The Challenge! 

KC want to upgrade factory operations due to run business for long time and passing of many eras. Therefore, there is a need to implement a system for production to improve efficiency, with the following system requirements. 

  • Raw materials must be inspected for accuracy before entering to the production station. 

  • Parallelly run production processes and quality control since raw material preparation to the completion of the production process. 

  • The system should allow for tracking production process, currently no production process history. 

  • The system must forecast and plan employee production schedules clearly. 

  • Supervisors find it challenging to monitor and control the production line because there is no alert system. They have to personally manage the work every day. 

  • Production must adhere to company standards and maintain product quality consistently. This requires the use of production documentation to renew certification every year. 

  • The system should be integrated with the current ERP system.

After using ciMES   

  • Data integration between ERP and ciMES system make accuracy preparation of production recipes with each Work Order (WO) and Bill of Materials (BOM) before entering the production process. The system helps confirm the correctness of the machinery and materials. If do not match, production cannot proceed. 

  • Sensors are installed on each machinery at production station, and QR codes are used to generate Job Cards for managing and tracking production data at every step. This information is crucial to create Product Resume and track back inspection of production in each lot. If there is an issue with any lot, it can be accurately identified by its lot number, and product recalls can be executed correctly. 

  • ciMES system collects detailed and automatic, such as temperature, air pressure, production quantities, machine working times, and other environmental factors in the production process. This ensures that the products adhere precisely to meet the standards. 

  • ARES has installed a dashboard to serve as a central hub for convenient monitoring and control of production data for supervisors. They can also access specific workstations when issues arise. If there are problems at any production station, supervisors can immediately receive notifications and access the relevant information. 

  • KC has chosen to use a user-friendly application to input quality control (QC) data into the ciMES system. Subsequently, the system will utilize this data to perform automatic Statistical Process Control (SPC), resulting in real-time Online SPC that allows supervisors to immediately monitor production efficiency.  

  • As KC has a long-standing continuous production process, being in the dairy consumer goods industry, machinery must undergo constant inspection and maintenance. Therefore, they have opted to implement the Preventive Management (PM) module to store maintenance and repair data, machinery spare parts information, and issue alerts for scheduled machinery inspections, among other functions.
