FUKUTA MOTOR TAIWAN was established in 1988 with a capital of 600 million baht. It is an industrial factory that manufactures motors, air conditioning equipment, water pump motors, and electric vehicle motors, serving various industries such as automotive, machining, agriculture, and more. It has high-level customers such as Tesla, Ford, and Mazda and others.

The Challenge!

FUKUTA MOTOR TAIWAN conducts its own assembly and manufacturing processes, resulting in a large number of machinery and employees in various departments. The company has expanded its factories, and currently, there are 2 factories in Taiwan. It is also a large-scale factory to produces products for high-level customers. Therefore, it is necessary to build up a critical data system collection for production process to increase efficiency and accurately cost calculation, as follows:

  • Data connection both factories and integration with the current ERP system.
  • Real-time OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) values for machinery efficient control and management.
  • System for measuring KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for each employee.
  • Checking assembly time of each production station and machinery performance.
  • Changing paper process of SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to E-SOP.
  • Connecting data for the entire production process, including QC (Quality Control).
  • If the system detects that QC does not pass, the production process in that LOT must be canceled immediately.
  • Generating reports as company's formats and display on dashboard.
  • Directly printing product label from the system.

After Using CiMES System 

FUKUTA MOTOR TAIWAN has implemented CiMES system from ARES to keep all production processes data and generate reports as company's  format. This data will be used for analysis and efficiency improvements. They has selected 7 modules to use in the factory as follows:

  1. Work in process (WIP)​ 

  1. Materials Management System (MMS)​ 

  1. Quality Control (QC) & Statistical Process Control (SPC)​ 

  1. Preventive Management (PM) & Tooling​ 

  1. Report and Dashboard​ 

  1. Carrier Management System (CMS)​ 

  1. Label Management System (LMS)  

After the implementation and training with ARES's consultant team, CiMES system has been improve various work processes as follows:

  • Data connectivity - Both factories have installed the CiMES system - has allowed for seamless integration. All operational data is within the same network, enabling quick and efficient job search and tracking.

  • Accurate and precisely cost calculations - CiMES system can easily integrate with current ERP systems through APIs, making production process data for cost calculations easily.

  • Detailed production data collection - Collects production data of each production station, including information about manpower, work hours, machine uptime/downtime/breaks, and materials used, to meet all factory's  standards.

  • Real-time OEE - Automatically show real-time OEE value by calculating all production process data.

  • E-SOP System - CiMES system utilizes E-SOP (Electronic Standard Operating Procedure) through screens and tablets to view report of each production station. Additionally, it allows for data recording.

  • Integrated all production data - All production data, whether related to machines, equipment, manufacturing orders (MO), or components, are interconnected within CiMES system. Able to extract data to analysis and improve future efficiency.

  • Reduce QC complexity - All complex QC processes (IQC, FAI, IPQC, OQC, FQC) can be easily operated within CiMES. System can promptly identify if QC fails, can immediately cancel the production process for that LOT by following standard factory.

  • Creating Product Resume - Due to CiMES system already records all production process data, so when production line is finished, user can check data history or print out production process, known as a Product Resume. This Product Resume can be tracked back to check detail of each product LOT or any unusual thing. This Product Resume can be confirmation to verify the products claimed by customers for warranty or other purposes are genuinely from our factory's production.

  • Report & dashboard - There are reports as company formats and show on dashboard.

  • Label Management - Product label can directly print Lot information and Barcodes from the system.
